Collaborations Limited, a Subchapter S Corporation, is a theatrical development and production company founded by Jeremy Black in 2003. CL develops new plays and musicals that display a potential for broad popularity.  CL is a member of the National Alliance for Musical Theater.

History of SPLIT ENDS and Collaborations Limited:

In February 2004 CL produced an Off Broadway cabaret workshop production of SPLIT ENDS at the Triad Theater in NYC (click for review).

The limited run played once a week for 18 weeks. The workshop was staged by Tony Stevens (Broadway choreographer and Bob Fosse assistant) and several costumes were designed by Bobby Pearce (Tony Award nominee, TABOO). Sue Maskaleris was Music Director and the show featured actors Sidney Myer (MAC award winner), Marty Grabstein (voice of "Courage the Cowardly Dog") and Jeremy Black (clones in "The Boys from Brazil").

CL continued to develop the show with the writers by bringing in other artists to expand the show from cabaret to musical theater. CL is building a creative team that currently includes Fred Stroppel as head bookwriter and Phil Reno (PRODUCERS and DROWSY CHAPERONE) as Music Supervisor. Creative work sessions and readings of SPLIT ENDS are shaping the show for the next production level.

History of JOURNEY TO CREATION and Collaborations:

After a concert presentation at Joe’s Pub, part of New York’s Public Theatre, Collaborations helped bring the musical to the attention of director Tom O’Horgan (HAIR, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR).  With the help of Suki West, O’Horgan mentored further development in a series of staged readings.  The musical also benefitted from the guidance of the late Rebecca “Sami” Sargent of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.

In further close collaboration with the writer, CL has reworked the musical’s original premise and themes.   CL is currently seeking a bookwriter to bring into the project. Click here for more info.
